Most people are either all-in on AI or scared of it. I'm neither. I use it, I build with it, and I keep asking what it means.

AI is a tool, not a decision-maker.
You can automate a lot. You shouldn't automate your judgment. Every system I build keeps humans in charge of the things that matter most: strategy, values, relationships.

The hype isn't the whole picture.
AI can do extraordinary things. It can also hallucinate, reinforce bias, and create dependencies you never signed up for. Knowing both sides isn't pessimism. It's how you build something that holds up.

AGI is coming. We should be talking about it.
Artificial General Intelligence isn't science fiction anymore. What it means for your work, your data, and your agency isn't something you can put off forever. I don't have all the answers, but asking the questions is part of the job.

Sustainable adoption beats fast adoption.
The goal isn't to use AI everywhere. It's to use it in the right places, in ways you understand and can turn off. Slow, intentional, reversible: that's what makes automation stick.

I came to AI through curiosity and investigation, not through engineering school. That background shapes everything I build.

Investigate first, build second
I don't start with a tool. I start with the real problem: what's actually happening, where the root cause is, what should and shouldn't change. My background is in investigation and support, and that lens doesn't go away when I pick up a keyboard.

The WAT method
Every system I build separates Workflows (the process), Agents (the coordination), and Tools (the deterministic execution). AI orchestrates. It doesn't run the code. That keeps systems predictable, auditable, and genuinely in your control.

Human agency by design
Before automating anything, I ask: what should a human still decide here? Structure, research, formatting: AI can handle those. Judgment, values, strategy: those stay with you. That question shapes everything I build.
